Cultivated and Useful Plants

Organizer: Botanischer Garten und Botanisches Museum Berlin-Dahlem

Quite early, man realized the use of certain plants: as food, as medicament, as drug, as fibre, or as pigment ... Via conquest or expeditions, plants from foreign countries came to Europe. On two coloured world maps, the areas of origin and cultivation of many useful plants are displayed; in 26 display cabinets, one can see them and products made of them.
