The Gotische Haus - Gothic House - is one of the most important profane, medieval memorials not only in Spandau, but all over Berlin. The late gothic building was erected at the second half of the 15th century. The well well-preserved net ribbed vaulting at the ground floor of the house is from about the year 1500. The restoration of the Gotische Haus began in 1987 and was finished in 1993.
At the upper floor, a branch of the Stadtgeschichtlichen Museum Spandau is located. A permanent exhibition is dedicated to "Bauen und Wohnen in der Spandauer Altstadt“ ("Building and Living at the Old City of Spandau"). A tour through the thirteen rooms lets come to live the urban life through the centuries.
At the ground floor, there are a tourist information and rooms for changing exhibitions on art and history.
