Museumsverbund Pankow - Prenzlauer Allee 227http://www.berlin.de/ba-pankow/museumsverbund/

At the building at Prenzlauer Allee 227 which was built in 1886 as municipal school, there are today the room of the Volkshochschule, the library Bibliothek am Wasserturm, as well as the main location of the Museumsverbund Pankow. In an exhibition hall, the Museumsverbund presents thematic special exhibitions on selected topics of the district’s history, often in cooperation with partners. At the main building, there are three exhibitions: One deals with the history of the school building Prenzlauer Allee 227, another with the history of the Jewish school Rykestraße, and the third is a photo exhibition on the neighbourhood Prenzlauer Berg 1949-1990.
The Museumsverbund Pankow has extensive objects and collection items on the history of the three neighbourhoods Prenzlauer Berg, Weißensee, and Pankow, including photos, documents, postcards, maps, plans, and a press clipping collection. Furthermore, there is a regional historical reference library.
Together with schools and other cooperation partners, museum education events are organized, pupil project weeks, series of events, and lectures. In most cases, the active looking for traces, and, by this, an active acquisition of the history and the urban environment are in the centre of interest.
