Since 2004, the Keramik-Museum Berlin (Ceramics Museum) is located on the idyllic area of the oldest preserved town house of the district Charlottenburg (built in 1712) nearby Richard-Wagner-Platz. In annually up to six to seven changing, sometimes simultaneous, special exhibitions, the KMB allows an insight into the many facets of ceramics in the German speaking area, from the middle of the 19th century to modern times. Hereby, one can refer to a collection stock which includes meanwhile up to 7,000 exhibits – most of the mare donations. The collection is complemented by a specialised library with a data and documents´ archive (up to now, there is only a restricted public access). For the KMB does not yet get public financial support, the friends´ association Förderverein KMB take scare of the museums. Regular opening times are granted by the voluntary work of the association´s members.
One gets more information, also about the manifold events, either at the KMB office next to the museum as well as on the website.
