The Münzkabinett (Numismatic Collection) as part of the Bode Museum is one of the largest collections of its kind with around 500,000 objects. The collection owes its international reputation to its diversity as well as the comprehensiveness of its coin series, which ranges from the beginnings of coinage in the seventh century BC in Asia Minor to the coins and medals of the twenty-first century.
