About
Berlin’s museums, palaces and memorials all in one place!
Museumsportal Berlin is a comprehensive website of the museums, memorials, palaces and art collections of Berlin. It offers not only an overview of Berlin’s unique selection of museums but also planning guidance and encourages exploration. At Museumsportal, all of the 200 museums are listed uniformly: each including a description, pictures, exhibition proposals, events and service information. The wide range of exhibitions and events can be filtered in a vast number of ways: by days or themes, for adults or children, current or future events and many more ways. Additionally, our editorial staff regularly provides helpful content such as: tips to save money, museum suggestions, an overview of major annual events or recommendations for families.
Museums directly input information on exhibitions and events into our system, thus ensuring that our website is always up-to-date. Via virtual interfaces, this data is transmitted to the city website berlin.de, the tourism website visitBerlin, to Cine Marketing GmbH (tip Berlin, Berliner Zeitung, Berliner Kurier, Tagesspiegel, Potsdamer Neueste Nachrichten, Ask Helmut) and many other platforms.
Museumsportal was started by the Berlin Senate Department for Economic Affairs, Technology and Research with a private operator and the editorial department of Kulturprojekte Berlin. The portal was launched in 2008. In 2012, Kulturprojekte took over operations and revamped the website by order of the Senate Department. Together with the State Association of the Museums of Berlin (LMB), the Museumsportal is continuously improved.
