The small special exhibition "Better, faster, electric!" shows the beginnings of the Berlin S-Bahn in Lokschuppen 2. The occasion is the "100 years of the Berlin S-Bahn" anniversary, which is being celebrated this summer. A fragment of the only original "Bernau" type S-Bahn railcar from 1924 and a "Stadtbahn" type S-Bahn train from 1928 are on display. A Prussian railroad compartment car from 1906 also illustrates what Berlin's local transport system looked like before the S-Bahn was introduced.

The three vehicles will be on display in the museum's Engine Shed 2 from August 4 to March 31, 2025.

On Sunday, August 4 and Saturday, August 10, the S-Bahn carriage from 1928 can be viewed from the inside. On 10 August, historic S-Bahn trains will run from Nordbahnhof to Anhalter Bahnhof - from there it is only 200 meters to the museum!
