Hoe or muse – Klio in the DDR
Cooperation with the Duitsland Instituut Amsterdam
On January 10, 1990, Armin Mitter and Stefan Wolle made an appeal to the public. In sharp words, they demanded a radical departure from the ideological history of the DDR. The UHV, which was founded in April 1990, brought together a group of historians who were not interested in a quick takeover by the West, but in a fundamental reappraisal of the history of the DDR. The extent to which this was successful will be dealt with in a lecture by Krijn Thijs and a subsequent discussion with former members and critics of the UHV.
