The evening offers a multifaceted look into the artistic work of Larissa Sansour and Søren Lind.
The two artists will present their work In Vitro, conceived for the Danish pavilion of the Biennale di Venezia 2019, for the first time in Germany. The 28-minute science fiction work revolves around the dialogue of two scientists in a post-apocalyptic world 30 years after an environmental disaster.

The highlight of the evening will be the German premiere of the live performance of the exhibition As If No Misfortune Had Occurred in the Night (2022) with soprano Nour Darwish. The opera aria, composed especially for this work by Anthony Sayhoun, allows Gustav Mahler’s Kindertotenlieder to merge with the Palestinian song Al Ouf Mash’al to create a new composition. The live singing will be performed together with a video version created especially for this format and, in combination with Nour Darwish’s performance, offers the opportunity for an immersive experience.

This is followed by a Q&A with Larissa Sansour and Søren Lind, hosted by Kathrin Becker.
