In the middle of Berlin there is an unusual garden: In 1990, artist Ben Wagin created the Parliament of Trees by beginning to plant the former border strip of the Berlin Wall opposite the Reichstag. In doing so, he created a memorial to the victims of the Berlin Wall and a monument against war and violence. The installation includes planted trees, evidence of the former border installations, pictures and texts. Names of Wall deaths are inscribed on granite slabs.
The guided tour focuses on the artist Ben Wagin his life and work and gives an overview of the creation and development of the creative and unique memorial.
