As the highlight of the festival, the Berlinische Galerie invites you to the big BG Summer Festival. Visitors can expect a varied program for all age groups from 1 to 6 pm: Creative activities such as a screen printing workshop, a pop-up photo studio and water painting for children on the play street invite you to join in. Guided tours through the newly designed collection presentation provide surprising insights into the art of the Berlinische Galerie and its history. The newly opened exhibitions "Staged Self. Marta Astfalck-Vietz" and "Monira Al Qadiri. Hero" can be seen by everyone throughout the day.

With the BG Summer Garden on the green museum forecourt, the installation by atelier le balto offers a summery place to relax and explore. The landscape architects will reveal the botanical secrets of their growing artwork "Light and Shadow" in a guided tour. Other highlights of the day include performances by Projekt KiezChor with the greatest pop hits of the 80s and 90s as well as the performance "MIMICRY" by collectif blitzbereit: a choreographic intervention that playfully reflects and alienates the behavioral patterns of visitors in exhibition spaces.

In addition to birthday cake and ice cream, culinary delights will be provided by street food stalls and Café Dix with snacks and summery drinks.
