Learning in the context of global interrelationships for school and after-school care
How can arithmetic be taught differently than in the usual way with the fingers?
In this two-day workshop, children will learn how knowledge was taught in Berlin from the Middle Ages to the present. at the same time, they will learn about the khipu, a knot script used during the Inca Empire in Peru. It was used to quantify quantities, for example of objects or food, in a multi-digit decimal system. Using this script, the children will knot a birthday bracelet and think together about why education is important and what it takes today to make learning fun.
The first day of the workshop takes place at the Märkisches Museum, the second day at school.
