Prof. Dr. Heinrich-Th. Schulze Altcappenberg
The stage set with the Queen of the Night's starry palace for Mozart's "Magic Flute" (1815/16) is one of the icons of modernism. The lecture explores the motif of the starry sky in Schinkel's work and meanders through its history in various contexts: the Christian tradition as well as in more recent synagogue construction, the applied arts as well as in the broad everyday and media aesthetics of the present.
Admission and participation free of charge
No registration required.
