During the long history of the New Palace, the surrounding gardens underwent many changes. They were adapted to the taste of the time or the practical wishes of the residents. In addition to busy periods of use, there were also times of sleeping beauty. Particularly active, formative protagonists were, for example, Crown Princess Victoria of Prussia, who was ambitious in terms of garden design, and her court gardener of many years, Emil Sello.
