As a contrast to our exhibition "A100 - Operation Concrete", we cordially invite you to decelerate with all your senses, to creative design, mindful movement and suggestions for sustainable (continued) movement.
We have invited several deceleration experts to join us in the use of unusually beautiful estate locations. For example, artist Paula Kramer will invite adults and children to movement workshops in the orchard for the first time. Course leader Jun Wang will introduce them to Thai Chi techniques in our bee meadow. And Theater Salpuri's participatory 'Play with Bamboo' offers many exercises in being slow in the middle of the estate.
A lot of new things are created from disposable and natural materials at the craft station of travel blogger Tina Hoffmann. Here, children in particular can get creative and make little treasures out of crown caps, popsicle sticks or newspapers.
In Neukölln, the hip art school Ceramic Kingdom has dedicated itself to the further development of ceramic art in Berlin. The team cultivates creative dialogue in the heart of Neukölln by integrating the ancient practice of pottery into today's society. For our Festival of Deceleration, Madeline and Ulrike are moving their open studio to Gutshof Britz and will be shaping small ceramic vessels with both children and adults.
There is a special offer for all bicycle enthusiasts and those who want to become one. The Berlin pocket money company from Neukölln's Flughafenstrasse will give their bikes a functional check and carry out any necessary repairs on the spot.
In addition, elementary school children can practice safe handling in traffic on a bicycle course run by the Neukölln police.
Evening highlight
Our bicycle cinema starts at sunset on the open-air stage. The silent movie classic 'Menschen am Sonntag' (Robert Siodmak 1930) will be shown; musically accompanied live by the trio 'Der dritte Stand' (Matthias Müller - trombone, Matthias Bauer - double bass and Rudi Fischerlehner - drums).
The special: The film is kept running by means of know-how of the resourceful bicycle wrenchers of the pocket money company.
The point of bicycle cinema is to make it possible to experience what it means when energy does not come from the socket, but has to be generated with one's own muscle power. How does it feel to generate 100 watts permanently (e.g. for an hour)?
To keep the bicycle cinema running, we are looking for people who pedal with endurance, desire and mood. Please register with us under the keyword: "Pedalritter:in": baerbel.ruben@museum-neukoelln.de
