Directed by Kyra Steckeweh and Tim van Beveren, the film tells the moving story of Slavonian composer Dora Pejačević (1885-1923) and her captivating musical journey.
The film sheds light on Dora Pejačević's life and shows how, together with the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, a plan she was unable to complete in Leipzig 100 years ago is realised: her Symphony in F minor.
The film is a fascinating music film, a road movie and a detective's search for clues that leads through Europe. In the film, the pianist Kyra Steckeweh, the Ukrainian violinist Andrej Bielow and the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra conducted by Andris Nelsons give an emotional interpretation of Dora Pejačević's now forgotten music.
The screening will be followed by an audience discussion with pianist Kyra Steckeweh and director Tim van Beveren.
