Hatshepsut - From a King's Daughter to the Pharaoh

Children's and family concert with the music ensemble MEMORIA TENERE under the direction of Radoslaw Pallarz

her name Hatshepsut, the daughter of Pharaoh Thutmose I, was born around 1500 BC and means "the first of the noble ladies". As a girl, she married her younger half-brother Thutmose II in order to rule Egypt with him after the death of their father. After a few years in power, her husband died, leaving behind a son, the child of a concubine. The three-year-old officially ascended the throne as Thutmose III, but his stepmother Hatshepsut took over the reins of government.

Up to this point, this royal family history is not unusual for Egypt. But in the 7th year of Thutmosis III's reign, everything changes ..

Join us on a musical adventure and experience how Hatshepsut became pharaoh, get to know her daughter Nefru-Re and her master builder Senenmut, accompany the expedition to the legendary land of Punt and take part in the construction of her great mortuary temple.
