Be part of International Museum Day on May 19, 2024 at the Allied Museum! Immerse yourself in the fascinating history of the Allies and discover Berlin in a whole new way.
In one hour, you can explore the traces of the American garrison around the Allied Museum. American, British and French troops helped shape the cityscape of West Berlin until their official departure on September 8, 1994.
The Western powers had entire housing estates built with schools, sports grounds and leisure facilities. This included the US soldiers' cinema Outpost from 1953, which now houses the Allied Museum. The route takes us past the former American headquarters, Truman Plaza and the US Army Chapel designed by Carl Mertz in 1957.
The tour is free of charge. Please register in advance at booking@alliiertenmuseum.de or (030)81 81 99 96.
