Speaker: Felix Hansen, Rathgen Research Laboratory, Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, SPK
The project Modeling museum pests, indoor climate and fungi aims to obtain in situ generated data of museum pests in order to put them into a statistical relationship between indoor and outdoor climate data of Austrian cultural institutions. The aim is to show how the activity and development of pests can be influenced by rising temperatures.
In the Rathgen research laboratory, the focus was placed on seven insect species relevant as museum pests in order to investigate the effects on feeding turnover, reproduction and development cycle at constant humidity and five different temperatures.
Participation free of charge.
