Royal weddings were welcome occasions for extensive firework displays. The bride and groom were often mythologized and a story was told that intertwined the political present and past narratives. However, it was not only marriages but also other love affairs that gave rise to courtly celebrations that culminated in opulent firework displays - especially at Versailles. The "Nah dran!" evening looks at amorous liaisons, which are reported in numerous engravings.
In addition to works from the exhibition, further engravings from the collection will be presented on this evening only. Up close and personal!", the images, advertising and media dissemination of the courtly fire theater can be discussed.
