In 1665, flyers and newspapers reported a bizarre event: fishermen observed an aerial battle near Stralsund. This sighting, which subsequently also became a media event, is the subject of the exhibition "UFO 1665". During this "Nah Dran!" evening, Prof. Dr. Moritz Wullen, curator of the exhibition, will take you on an expedition into a world of images hidden in old books. Those who know 17th century art only from painting galleries will be surprised by this baroque parallel universe with strange signs in the sky, airships, space rockets and flying discs. Individual book objects presented without a showcase and flipped open - so you are very close to the action.
The event accompanies the exhibition "UFO 1665. The Air Battle of Stralsund", which is on display at the Art Library until August 27.
