main content start,
Sportmuseum Berlin | Wassersportmuseum Grünau

With our "Regattageschnatter" series of events, we delve deep into the history of water sports and at the same time take a look at its significance for current social issues.

Water sports are more than just physical exercise: It is a mirror of social developments - shaped by political influences, social hurdles and individual successes.

Water sports are female!

From the very beginning, women have also fought for social participation in rowing, sailing and paddling. We can now look back on over 100 years of female water sports. What were the beginnings like? How did the role of women in water sports develop over the course of the 20th century? What current trends can be identified? We want to explore these and other questions in the first edition of our discussion series. With the Regattageschnatter series of events, we want to bring together different perspectives, highlight the relevance of sport and its history for social debates and learn new things.

From 6 pm, we welcome you to a themed tour of our exhibition.

Our discussion will begin at 7 p.m. in the Regattatribüne event hall.

Our guests:

Hannah Strothmann (Berlin University of the Arts)

Dr. Petra Tzschoppe (University of Leipzig)

Dajana Pefestorff (German Canoe Association)

Moderation:

Dr. Veronika Springmann (Sportmuseum Berlin | Wassersportmuseum Grünau)

We look forward to your registration! (Wassersportmuseum@SenInnSport.Berlin.de)
