Dr. Yvette Deseyve, Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, Alte Nationalgalerie
Schinkel was a versatile universal artist, but he never worked independently as a sculptor throughout his life. He did not sculpt, nor did he artistically work wood or stone, and yet Schinkel developed explicit ideas for sculptural works of art. The lecture uses selected projects to explore the interplay between architect and sculptor.
