ATTENTION: THE EVENT IS ALREADY FULLY BOOKED
The four-member ensemble around composer, musician and founder Hans-Jörn Brandenburg was created on the occasion of Julian Rosefeldt's film installation "Deep Gold" (2013/2014). The black-and-white film, currently on view in the collection of the Neue Nationalgalerie, pays homage to Luis Buñuel's surrealist classic "L'Âge d'Or" (1930). In "Deep Gold," Julian Rosefeldt sets the action in a nightclub in 1920s Berlin, where various parallel worlds interact in its metropolitan setting.
On this evening, the DEEP GOLD Band plays music from the film and works from Kurt Schwitters' 1929 play "Oben & Unten".
The ensemble consists of four musicians*:
Hans-Jörn Brandenburg | Piano, SeaboardJoe
Bauer | PercussionPaul
Brody | TrumpetMarie
Renault | Viola
Guests on this evening will be soprano Amanda Halgrimson-Walzer, puppeteer and singer Suse Wächter, and reciter of Schwitters' texts Axel Werner.
