Tea drinking was invented a long time ago in China and Chinese tea was one of the most valuable imported goods in early modern Europe - just good enough for emperors and kings. Later, tea also came from India as a result of British colonial policy. In addition to the origins of the tea plant and tea as a colonial product, garden educator Steffen Ramm presents the tea plant and tea legends with humour and wit. Afterwards, a walk to Frederick the Great's guest palace increases the anticipation of a tea ceremony at a royal table in the Blue Gallery with high-quality porcelain. A tea sommelier will give you exciting insights into the world of tea and turn you into royalty as you savour different types of tea and delicacies.
We recommend participation for visitors aged 14 and over.
With the kind support of KPM - Königliche Porzellanmanufaktur Berlin, Teekampagne and Konditorei Rabien.
