Around April 13, 2025, we will be celebrating with the theme days "Invisible Worlds: From the Microcosm to the Universe" to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the microscope - a groundbreaking invention that, like the telescope, revolutionized our view of scientific interrelationships. Experience an exciting journey from the microcosm of life to the infinite expanse of the universe in workshops, fulldome programs, lectures and live performances.

Our theme days offer a varied program for all age groups: At the Mega-microscopy in the planetarium hall, we view and explain the specimens or objects you have brought with you live on the planetarium dome. Here, both school classes and private individuals can explore the world under the microscope up close.

You only have a sample but no specimen yet? No problem, in the microscopy workshop "The world in detail" you can make specimens from your samples under professional guidance. It pays to be quick, places are limited. With a bit of luck, your specimen will be shown in the dome. Accompanying experimental workshops in the Foyer invite you to learn more about optics, microscopy and light.

In the planetarium hall , they can immerse themselves in the seemingly invisible world of microorganisms in visually impressive 360° fulldome programs and get to the bottom of the mystery of life:

- The Chemistry of Life

- Karl and Karla in the Microverse

- The mystery of life

- Our blue planet

- We are not alone

- Dark Biosphere

Other highlights include top-class lectures by renowned scientists who will provide insights into current research and our popular Science Slamin which scientific topics and entertainment are combined in a humorous way.

- Microscopic theater

- Berlin Brains: Division of labor in the brain

- Einstein in the Dome: Encounter of the third kind

- Deep Breath

- Invisible, visible, seen through

- From manual tinkering to scientific microscope construction

- Searching for Life in Space

In the Foyerthe exhibition "The virtual microscope museum" invites you to marvel and on our immersive LED wall you can expect spectacular insights into the world of plankton and the origin of life. In the evening, science and art merge in the audiovisual Live performance <MAKRO | MIKRO>.

Literature enthusiasts will also get their money's worth: Clarissa Corrêa da Silva presents her children's book "My wonderful self"which explores the exciting world of epigenetics.

Our cinema rounds off the program: you can look forward to a thematically coordinated selection of films, ranging from short films and documentaries to feature films.

Join us and discover the wonders of the microcosm in the universe - a world that arouses curiosity and inspires!
