Dabke (traditional circle dance from Syria) aims to forge social and family bonds as we come together in movement, manifesting memories, learning and sharing creativity. By transforming dance into a physical and emotional therapy, we aim to enrich our cultural understanding of family.

Dabke is popular in many variations, and in Berlin it combines the enthusiasm of the two Syrian artists with the openness and diversity of the city and an intergenerational audience.

"All of the participants were smiling in the end and that was the most beautiful thing. When I see that people are happy, enthusiastic and smiling, then I feel that I am becoming a part of this country, and this country is becoming a part of me." (Medhat Aldaabal)
