With "White Nights", the brass ensemble of the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin (DSO) presents a program that revolves around the midsummer night. All the composers lived or live in the latitudes where the phenomenon of the White Nights occurs. The compositions are original compositions for this instrumentation. This is particularly surprising in the case of the works by Sibelius, some of which were composed in Berlin, as they are virtually unknown even in brass circles. In his suite, Jukka Linkola amusingly exploits the playing techniques of brass players. The trumpet sextet by the "Romantic" Oskar Böhme was written in St. Petersburg and is his best-known work alongside the trumpet concerto.

Before the concert, you have the opportunity to visit the exhibition "BERLIN. COSMOPOLITE: The sunken world of Felicie and Carl Bernstein" in the exhibition rooms until 7.00 pm.

The benefit concert supports the "Project Ground Floor", which aims to redesign the first floor of the Liebermann Villa, as well as the work of the Friends of the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin.
