Artists Liat Grayver, Yair Kira, and Amir Shpilman won the DAGESH Art Prize presented by the Jewish Museum Berlin and the ELES Studienwerk in 2018 with Open, Closed, Open, a multimedia installation spanning two rooms. Visitors inside the room entitled The Sandbox work together with a robot on a sand surface with the forms of Hebrew letters. This interactive event in turn is projected into the Video Room, where it becomes an object of observation in itself. A composition of human voices featuring cabbalistic aspects makes the whole installation into a special spatial experience.

The DAGESH Art Prize is awarded by the Ernst Ludwig Ehrlich Studienwerk in cooperation with the Jewish Museum Berlin. The prize money is donated by the Friends of the Jewish Museum Berlin.
