The exhibition by David Schnell (*1971) creates imaginary spatial images. Geometric forms meet pictorial imagery and, as in dreams, painterly details combine with remembered, associated abstractions. Schnell's paintings interweave different principles: cut-outs with depth, color fields with crystalline splinters and strong colors with simultaneous transparency. All eleven works on display date from 2024 and were created especially for the Mies van der Rohe Haus. The artist lives and works in Leipzig.
