Arbeit von Gösta Gablick
© Jonas Groß

The Pankow blacksmith and sculptor Gösta Gablick is showing some of the impressive results of his 40 years of continuous artistic activity at Schönhausen Castle. On display are sculptures, pictures and reliefs made of steel, bronze, silver and glass that were created during this time. Despite the very different motifs and production techniques, they are all characterized by the incorruptible forms of nature in the style of classicism and classical modernism.
Gösta Gablick, who has been running his own forging studio in Berlin Rosenthal since 1991, is constantly developing his artistic techniques. Whether it is the inclusion of casting processes, gilding or the combination of metals with glass, he deals intensively with the technical and creative peculiarities. This results in works that are characterized by a stylistically confident and technically outstanding use of materials and processing methods.
Schönhausen Palace has also become part of his work: Designs for medallions with a view of the castle and the first implementations will be on display in the exhibition.
In addition to his own artistic work, the restoration of metal objects is also part of his field of activity. This includes sculptures by Fritz Cremer and Werner Stötzer, for example, as well as historical fences and bridge elements.
Gösta Gablick's work has already been shown at solo and group exhibitions in Berlin, Paris, Düsseldorf, the Czech Republic and Switzerland in recent years. Schönhausen Palace now offers Pankow residents the opportunity to gain insights into a remarkable artistic oeuvre.
