The Museum Barberini in Potsdam permanently displays the extensive collection of Impressionist paintings by museum founder Hasso Plattner: over 100 masterpieces by Claude Monet, Auguste Renoir, Berthe Morisot, Alfred Sisley, Camille Pissarro, Henri-Edmond Cross, Paul Signac and other Impressionist and Post-Impressionist painters. With 34 paintings by Claude Monet, nowhere else in Europe outside of Paris are more works by this artist to be seen in one place. Potsdam is thus one of the world's most important centres of Impressionist landscape painting.
