Das Käthe-Kollwitz-Museum widmet sich im Rahmen seiner letzten Sonderausstellung am jetzigen Standort dem Werk der Fotografin Lotte Jacobi und der Trickfilmkünstlerin Lotte Reiniger. Erfolgreich schafften sie es, sich in der männerdominierten Kunstwelt durchzusetzen. Die Sonderschau zeigt auf, wie ihre Karrieren in der aufstrebenden, lebendigen Kulturszene des Berlins der Weimarer Zeit ihren Anfang nahmen und bis zu ihrer Emigration im Jahr 1935 aufblühten.

Sie treffen erstmals in einer Ausstellung aufeinander: Lotte Jacobi wird mit ihren ausdrucksstarken Porträts von namhaften Persönlichkeiten aus der Kunst- sowie Theater-, Tanz- und Filmszene präsentiert werden. Die bedeutende, international bekannte Filmemacherin Lotte Reiniger wird mit Scherenschnitten, Storyboards, Zeichnungen und ihren Silhouettenfilmen vertreten sein. Zusammen versprechen sie, ein spannendes Ausstellungspaar abzugeben, dessen Werk ohne Sprache auskommt und interkulturell verstanden wird.
