The art of Käthe Kollwitz is characterised by deep emotion and clear political statements, which for many, still resonate today. Kollwitz was neither simple, nor formulaic, but rather multidimensional and versatile, using graphics, sculptural art and the written word as mediums.

Spread across three floors with an introduction on the ground floor, the permanent exhibition of the Käthe-Kollwitz-Museum Berlin traces the development and disruptions in the life of this extraordinary woman.

The ground floor provides an accessible overview of the political and historical background of the Kollwitz, while the first and second floors reconstruct the progression of her artistic oeuvre.
