Icons are exhibited with the following motifs: Annunciation, the birth of Christ, the baptism of Christ, the entry into Jerusalem, the Last Supper, Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane, the Crucifixion, the Resurrection, Ascension and Pentecost. Byzantine, Russian, Greek and Bulgarian icons from various centuries served as models for Tatyana Pauly's works. The exhibited icons are painted or "written" on pre-primed wood with egg tempera and decorated with gold leaf. The technique has been known since the 6th century and has hardly changed over time.
Tatjana Pauly was born in Russia and has lived in Germany since 1994. Since graduating from the Youth Art School in Omsk and finishing her fashion design studies, she has devoted herself entirely to painting.
The exhibition will be shown from 14 February to 28 June 2020.
