The larger exhibition room on the left (seen from the entrance) shows how closely the history of Spandaus is connected to the St. Nikolai Church. St. Nikolai is not only an almost 800-year-old building on a sandy island at the confluence of the Spree and Havel rivers. People from the parish help to shape life in the city. We know their stories from the church books and other documents of the Nikolai Archive. From the early modern period to the present day, we walk through the centuries.
The small exhibition room on the ground floor on the right informs the visitors about the valuable holdings of the historical library of St. Nikolai. The furnishings are based on the study of Reverend Daniel Friedrich Schulze (1739-1811): Desk, bookshelf and a large table for spreading the writings.
