Drawings by Wilhelm Busch, Anna Faroqhi and Friederike Feldmann

Curated by Rebekka Liebmann and Dr. Martin Steffens

The exhibition focuses on the draughtsman and storyteller Wilhelm Busch. Standing at the beginning of the "comic era", he wrote cultural history with his pointedly comic and violent picture stories. Busch was a representative of the artistic avant-garde - at the same time, his work reflected the social discourses of his time.

At Schloss Britz, original drawings and sketches by Wilhelm Busch on well-known and unknown stories from the Kupferstichkabinett SMPK, Berlin and the Museum der bildenden Künste, Leipzig
will be exhibited. His work is flanked by two contemporary positions: Friederike Feldmann picks up on Busch's pictorial inventions in
large-format, free drawings. Anna Faroqhi has written a new picture story for the exhibition, which is formally based on Busch's originals.
and questions his life and work from the perspective of the 21st century.
