Jüdisches Museum Berlin

The Jewish Museum Berlin is known far beyond Germany’s borders. Its iconic building by Daniel Libeskind and its exhibitions on Jewish history in Germany have made it a Berlin highlight for both local and international guests since its opening.

We invite you to get to know the museum on a 90-minute-tour – designed for visitors interested in an in-depth overview.

It has three main themes:

- The architecture of the museum building whose symbolic power is drawn from its close reference to Nazism – this part of the tour includes a visit to the axes in the museum basement as well as to the work of art entitled Schalechet (Fallen Leaves) by Menashe Kadishman.

- The exhibition A Is for Jewish about Jewish life in contemporary Germany – here you will learn more about the central questions of Judaism, and about the relationship of Jews living in Germany to the country.

- The role of the Jewish Museum Berlin for the German identity. At a suitable location and on the basis of selected exhibits, this theme will crop up again and again throughout the tour.

The guides are flexible and can weight the themes according to the interests of the group and take a lot of time for questions.
