The Archenhold Observatory in the middle of Treptow Park is the largest and oldest public observatory in Germany. Its centerpiece is the giant telescope built in 1896, which is the longest movable refracting telescope in the world with a focal length of 21 meters. In addition to the "Great Refractor", other attractions include the historic Einstein Hall, the Zeiss Small Planetarium and the "Museum of Celestial Science".

The Archenhold Observatory invites you on a journey through the world of astronomy with its wide range of offers. In the exhibitions, visitors can discover the dimensions of the universe, the solar system and the historical development of astronomy and can touch a real piece of space: the enormous iron meteorite!
In the Zeiss small planetarium, the new star projector provides a brilliant starry sky on the planetarium dome, supplemented by 360° visualizations. The extended program includes many live moderated events and excursions through the cosmos.

In the free "Museum of Celestial Science", visitors embark on a fascinating journey through the history of astronomy and the observatory. In the historic Einstein Hall, where Albert Einstein gave one of the first lectures on the theory of relativity, visitors can enjoy interesting talks on the latest findings in astronomy.
