The Dahlem Estate and Museum (Domäne Dahlem) is an open-air museum for food and agricultural. Originally a big farm the Dahlem Estate can look back on more than 800 years history. Today you can experience there the food chain from farm to fork. The award-winning CULINARIUM in newly renovated stables from the 19th century presents Germany's first permanent exhibition on the cultural history of food. At hundreds of exhibits, installations, performances and media stations visitors can discover that food is much more than to eat. In the manor house from 1560, the oldest residential building in Berlin, also a historical grocer's shop and the beekeeping collection Armbruster can be visited. The world's only farm with subway station has livestock farming, agriculture and horticulture with ecological guidelines. In addition, you can watch the blacksmith, the weavers, the gilder, the potter and the wood restorer at work. Beyond Berlin known are the large market festivals as the potato or the harvest festival or not to forget the Christmas markets.
