The Jewish Museum (Jüdisches Museum Berlin) is Europe's largest Jewish museum. The zigzag-shaped museum building by Daniel Libeskind translates German-Jewish history into an impressive architectural design language.
The heart of the museum, the permanent exhibition, reopened in August 2020 after two years of renovation. With a different focus and new scenography, it conveys Jewish history, culture and the present in Germany. The chronological tour is supplemented by insights that approach diverse topics from a Jewish perspective.
Is there a specifically Jewish art? What is the sound of Judaism? In addition to original objects, a variety of audiovisual media, virtual reality, art installations, interactive games and hands-on stations can be seen.
