KINDL – Center for Contemporary Art Closed
The KINDL – Center for Contemporary Art is located on the historic site of the former Kindl Brewery in Berlin-Neukölln, where it has been offering an exhibition space for around five exhibitions a year since 2016. The ensemble of rooms, consisting of a machine house, brewhouse, tower and boiler house, is a hybrid cultural venue where architectural history and contemporary art come together in an exciting way. Monographic shows and thematic group exhibitions by international artists of different genres are presented on the three floors of the listed machine house, which was redesigned on a private initiative. The exhibition site is also architecturally remarkable: with a ceiling height of 20 meters, the boiler house offers a unique setting for site-specific works that deal with the particular spatial situation. There is also an impartation offer for school classes. A café in the brewhouse between original copper pans and a beer garden in the plane tree grove invite visitors until the evening hours.
