Museum Pankow is the district history museum for Pankow, Prenzlauer Berg and Weißensee. In permanent and special exhibitions, often developed in cooperation with third parties, the history and present of the northeast of Berlin are presented and the debate is encouraged. In accompanying events and mediation offers such as interactive tours, discussions, readings, concerts, films or projects of aesthetic education, the museum invites a lively exchange about the offered contents and the development of new topics. Special tours or special projects for school classes and other interested groups are also developed on request.
The former school building at Prenzlauer Allee 227, completed in 1886, is the main location and archive of the Museum Pankow. The permanent exhibition "Gegenentwürfe" ("Counter Designs") shows here the transformation processes of the 1980s and 1990s using the example of seven locations in Prenzlauer Berg. In an exhibition hall, there are regular special exhibitions on other topics of local history.
In addition, the museum has exhibition rooms at Heynstraße 8, Dunckerstraße 77 and the Blankenfelde city estate. In addition, there are exhibitions in the city.
