Berlin's festivals and events attract countless visitors every year. Despite cuts to the cultural budget of around 140 million euros, there is a strong determination to maintain the wide range of cultural events. Here you will find an overview of the cultural year 2025.

2025 offers a wide range of exciting exhibitions, even if some museums have not yet been able to present their full programme due to the drastic cuts in the cultural sector. The history of division and Peaceful Revolution

The fall of the Berlin Wall on 9 November 1989 was the high point of the Peaceful Revolution. 35 years later, the city is once again commemorating this event. Museum Sunday - abolished!

After three and a half years, Museum Sunday has come to an end: on 1 December, the admission-free Museum Sunday took place for the last time as a joint project of more than 80 Berlin museums.

Most memorials and regional museums as well as some historical museums and collections are free to visit. Some museums offer free admission on special days or on certain occasions.

Symposium

What does the digital museum look like? A specialist conference at the Kulturforum, which marked the conclusion of the largest museum digitisation project in Germany to date, "museum4punkt0", showed that it is diverse and full of opportunities. Over the past six years, 27 museums have joined forces to form this development and learning network.
